![]() ![]() If they see any issue with the phone, they can't replace the battery. The "leader" came to me and said, there is nothing she can do. I resisted flipping out, and ask to speak to a manager. Interesting, I have a water resistant case, my phone has never gone swimming, but since there is rust (on a 4 year old phone which has been to rain forests and other high humidity areas not all that surprising to me), they can't fix their horribly working product. We can sell you a new iphone 6 (same phone) for $249, but we can't replace your battery because you must have had water damage to get rust. Another young chap came out and said, "Sorry, we saw some rust on a screw in your phone so we can't fix the battery". At the end of 2 hours, I asked "what's up" - they said, "Oh, your are waiting, we'll bring your phone out". ![]() He finally stopped selling, and agreed to replace the battery - said it would take 2 hours. Since I only use my phone for email, phone and texting (and sports scores), the ~$800 price tag to get a new phone did not make sense to me. Made an appointment in the Los Gatos Apple store, went in today, the young chap wasted 10 minutes of my time trying to convince me to just buy an 8 or 10 since the new apps are not really designed for the 6 processor. Was excited that Apple owned up to the battery degrading an impacting app performance and will replace the battery for $29. Have a iPhone 6, battery is degrading rapidly, takes up to 10 seconds to launch my phone app (won't that be great in an emergency), clearly needed a new battery. Been a fanboy since my first Apple II plus in the 80's.
